Episode 106 - Understanding God's Ways w Kent Humphreys

Fellowship of Companies for Christ International Episode 106

As Christian business owners, we often face challenges that test our faith and resilience. Whether navigating economic uncertainties or personal health crises, these trials provide unique opportunities to deepen our understanding of God’s ways and align our lives with His divine purpose.

On this episode Ken Powell, FCCI’s Pathway to Purpose podcast host brings back a keynote talk from Kent Humphreys.  From 1968 to 1972, Kent served as a U.S. Army officer in the Medical Service Corps, earning the Bronze Star Medal during his time in Vietnam. After his military service, he returned to Oklahoma City to co-own and lead Jack's Merchandising and Distribution with his brothers. Over 25 years, Kent grew the company through 24 acquisitions before selling it in 1997. His business success was matched by his passion for ministry, which led him to write 13 books, mentor young leaders, and serve as President of Fellowship of Companies for Christ International (FCCI).

Kent’s life verse, Philemon 1:7—“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement because you, my brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people”—reflects his unwavering commitment to encouraging others. Even as he faced severe health challenges later in life, including near-death experiences due to a debilitating lung disease, Kent remained steadfast in his mission to glorify God through every circumstance.
